Literally. I put two buckets and three bacia’s (plastic bin things that you use to wash clothes) outside of my house to collect water, and about 15 minutes later they were entirely full. Thankfully, only two parts of my house leak – the front door, and my bedroom window. But we put a rag under the door, and I just keep things away from my window. If I lived in a mud hut like some volunteers I would be swimmin’ in rainwater right now.
The real bad news: the road probably washed out. Which makes weekend travel annoyingly difficult. Or just really bumpy.
Now I see why they don't fill the potholes. There is no point. The newly filled holes will inevitably just fill up with tropical downpours and completely erode outra vez.
